A Sussex farm shop has just won a national award for their exceptional steak and kidney pies. Rushfields farm shop has just scooped the gold award in the steak and kidney pie category.
Pie makers Alison Ashdown and colin Langridge have been baking pies as a family run shop several years and have proceeded to add a number of their tasty creations into more awards on Monday. The competition, which has 20 categories, attracted more than 800 entries from around the whole UK.
The shop opened in 2011 as part of Rushfields plant centre, also won another award as best food shop in January’s Sussex food and drink awards.
This year’s pie awards will be the 7th annual British pie awards, held in Melton Mowbray.
